Serving Lesotho, Africa with Mission Aviation Fellowship
Daniel and Leslie, with their children Evelyn, Caleb & Jackson, are missionaries with Mission Aviation Fellowship, serving in Africa. Daniel looks forward to using the skills God has gifted him with, in order to advance the Kingdom of God. “Using my skills as a pilot/mechanic in order to multiply the effectiveness of missions is an exciting opportunity.” Leslie is excited about supporting Daniel in their MAF ministry as well as raising their family in a different culture. She looks forward to opportunities where she can use her teaching skills. Jeremiah 29:11 and Isaiah 40:31 are important verses for the Hulls as they begin their ministry with MAF.
Daniel was born and raised in Flagstaff, AZ. His parents were a great example of the Christian faith. They taught him his need for the Lord. Daniel accepted Christ as his Savior at the age of 5. Throughout high school he was involved with Child Evangelism Fellowship and made several trips to an orphanage in Mexico. “By the end of high school, I knew that God was calling me to missions and He kept opening doors that led me into the aviation end of missions. I look forward to using the airplane to further the efforts of different missions and missionaries on the field.” Daniel attended Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, IL, and Moody Aviation in Elizabethton, TN. He obtained his commercial pilots license (fixed-wing) and flight instructor certificates. After graduation he worked in Flagstaff, AZ, as a flight instructor and aircraft mechanic (A&P/IA).
Isaiah 41:10 is a special verse for Daniel. “Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Surely I will help you, Surely I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” He shares that it is comforting to know that he and Leslie are not doing this alone. “God is upholding us with His hands while strengthening us. With Him we have no need to fear.”
Leslie was born and raised in Elizabethton, TN. When she was younger, a local church sent a bus out into her neighborhood to take people to church. She and her sister began going on a regular basis. Even though her parents had always taught her about Jesus, she realized for the first time that she needed Him to be her Savior. She accepted Christ at the age of 9. Leslie became aware of missions while attending Milligan College in Elizabethton. She had no clear vision until she met Daniel and saw his excitement for missionary aviation. She knew this was what God wanted for her, too.
At Milligan College Leslie earned her B.A. in English, with a minor in Bible. She also received her teaching certificate and taught high school English.
Daniel and Leslie met in their church college group in TN. They were married in 2000.
