The elders at Harvest Bible Chapel fulfill the biblical role of spiritual leaders, guiding and shepherding those in the church.  Further, the elders are responsible for the biblical integrity of all teaching and ministries.  We are deeply thankful for God’s leading

John Dyer Sr.

John has been a part of Harvest Bible Chapel Flagstaff since the beginning. He was raised in a Christian household and was taught the Christian faith since childhood. In his early teen years he became frustrated with failing to live like he knew God wanted, and subsequently quit trying. One summer evening when John was fifteen, God performed a work of His grace in him, giving him certitude, peace, relief, and overwhelming joy. Since that evening, God has faithfully kept John through the peaks and valleys of life. John grew up mostly in Georgia. Originally showing up in Flagstaff in 1981 to attend Northern Arizona University, he managed to earn a four-year electrical engineering degree in seven years. (He readily admits to not being a model student.) John is married to Risa and they have three sons, commonly referred to as “the Dyer boys”: John Jr., Matt, and Ethan. He is grateful to God for allowing him to work at W. L. Gore and Associates since 1992. Finally, he loves anything that is done outdoors: hunting, backpacking, climbing, and anything else you can do outside. ...Show

Zac Fitzsimmons

Email: zac.fitzsimmons@harvestflagstaff.org

Zac grew up in Minnesota and married his high school sweetheart, Sara, and now have three wonderful children: Gavin, Aubriella, and Micah. He originally gave his life to Christ at age 14, but it wasn’t until the age of 24 that he truly surrendered his life and became a devout Christ follower. Zac owned a retail picture framing business in Minnesota for nine years before selling it and moving the family to Colorado Springs to enroll in the New Life School of Worship. This is where Pastor Paul originally connected with him, and later introduced Zac to his new church family at Harvest Bible Chapel in 2010. Zac has an ever-growing passion for leading God’s people into corporate worship. He also loves writing and recording music, woodworking, and being out enjoying the beauty of God’s creation. ...Show

Doug serves as a cell group leader and Elder here at Harvest Bible Chapel. He and his family started attending back in 1995, and have stayed faithful since then. He was born and raised here in Flagstaff. As a five year old, Doug electrocuted himself by inserting metal into a household outlet. Along with a significant lesson learned, he was left with second and third degree burns on his right hand, some carpet fires and a few small lumps of molten metal. He accepted Christ in 1985 while in graduate school at the University of Colorado, through the ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ. Doug has a BS and PhD in Chemical Engineering, and currently works at W. L. Gore as a technical leader. He met his wife Gretchen by spiking a volleyball on her at a Campus Crusade picnic in Boulder, Colorado. They have two daughters, Regan and Petra. In his free time you can find Doug outdoors doing anything active-especially hiking, skiing and mountain biking. ...Show
